GAZEBO

  • Half = single table - please choose this option if you cannot fill 2 tables with stock
  • Single = 2 tables - you will be trading from both sides, so if you can't fill both tables please choose half a stall.
  • Double = 4 tables - all tables must be filled with products for sale.
  • Own Gazebo/trailer/van - this is for a 3mx3m pitch - if your gazebo/trailer is bigger please contact us before booking.

 

ELECTRIC HOOK UP

  • 16amp male/female electric - please ensure your equipment does not exceed this.
  • All electrical equipment must satisfy relevant legislation. 
  • Traders shall provide evidence of Portable Appliance Test Certificates for all electrical goods and equipment when requested.

  • By attending our events you are confirming you agree with Market Place Management Ltd (MPML) terms and conditions, which protect your business, MPML, Stockport Metropolitan Borough Council (SMBC) and our visitors.

    Public Liability Insurance – All Traders

    • All traders shall indemnify MPML and SMBC from all claims, damage, loss, expenses and costs howsoever caused including , without limitation, those resulting from any explosion, fire, accident or injury to any person or property which may arise as a result of or in connection with the occupation or use of any space by the trader.
    • All traders shall maintain an insurance policy (Public Liability Insurance) with a reputable insurer, to a minimum of £5 million cover against third party and public liability during the term of occupancy or registration with Stockport Market.  The trader shall confirm that this is in place upon booking and evidence provided to an authorised officer when requested.
    • All traders employing staff shall maintain an insurance policy with a reputable insurer for cover against employee liability.
    • It is the traders responsibility to keep this up to date.
    • It is the traders responsibility to ensure their products conform to the accepted legal framework and legislation for general consumer sales in the UK.

    Food Trader Documentation

    • Each food based business needs to register with their local council and request an inspection from an environmental health officer. Some food based businesses may be told they are low risk/ low priority for an inspection. It is imperative that you are registered as a minimum and when your inspection takes place the best practice is to display your food hygiene rating on your stall.
    • The trader shall confirm that this is in place upon booking and evidence provided to an authorised officer when requested. 
    • Your local council will provide information on your packaging requirements as a business, weights and measures, what you should display regarding allergies and are happy to answer any questions you may have. You can refer to Safer Food, Better Business.

    Other Documentation

    • The trader shall confirm that the following is in place (as appropriate) upon booking and evidence provided to an authorised officer when requested. It is the traders responsibility to follow their industries legislation.

    Cosmetics/Soaps

    • Traders should have Cosmetic Safety Assessment)
    • An email confirming that their products are registered on the CPNP (Cosmetic Products Notification Portal) and that their products have a PIF (Product Information Sheet) available for all products on sale.
    • If products are sold as organic, vegan or cruelty free, they must be able to provide certification of this from bodies such as The Vegan Society, PETA and their suppliers certification of organic produce.

    Silver

    • It is an offence to describe an un-hallmarked article as being wholly or partly made of silver, palladium, gold or platinum
    • If you sell something described as a precious metal you must clearly display the Dealer’s notice in A4 format or larger without alterations.

    Alcohol

    • You must have a personal licence to sell alcohol at Stockport Market.
    • If the personal licence holder is unable to work the stall they must ensure they designate a competent number of staff who understands the responsibilities of their personal license.
    • You must display a challenge 25 sign on your stall.

    NOTE _ MPML does not allow the sale of any fur or fur based products at our events. We reserve the right to ask any trader with said products to be removed with immediate effect.

    Electricity

    • A limited number of 16amp male/female electric hook ups are available on a first come first serve basis.
    • A single electric hook up will provide power for up to 1400w.  If this is not sufficient you will need to book 2 electric hook ups.
    • A double electric hook up will provide power for up to 2800w. 
    • All electrical equipment must satisfy relevant legislation.  Traders shal provide evidence of Portable Appliance Test Certificates for all electrical goods and equipment when requested.

    Generators

    • Petrol fuelled generators will not be accepted.
    • Generators should be either super silent diesel or LPG powered.
    • A C02 extinguisher should be readily available at all times, serviced and ready for use.

    Gas

    • All gas appliances must have gas safety certification, available for inspection when requested.
    • Gas bottles should be placed in an appropriately sized cage.
    • A C02 extinguisher should be readily available at all times, serviced and ready for use.

    Waste Disposal

    • When leaving the event stall holders must remove and take away their own trade waste and ensure the stall area in the same condition that it was in before they set up their stall that day.

    General

    Stallholders supplying their own infrastructure must ensure that it is fit for purpose and weighted appropriately. MPML is not liable for any damages caused by your own infrastructure.

    • Under no circumstance do we accept any abusive language or behaviour, whether through social media, email or in person. Abusive language will result in termination from our markets.
    • We expect all traders to stay for the duration of the event. In case of emergency permission to leave early may be sought from the Market Manager.
    • We of course expect professionalism at all times when trading at our events.
    • Smoking is strictly prohibited around, next to, and in front of the stalls. If you need to smoke we advise walking outside the market event area.
    • We expect all stall holders to ensure their stall is set up safely. It is essential that all walkways are clear, nothing that is hanging could cause harm and that the products are stacked securely. We have the right to ask you to remove products should they be deemed unsafe.
    • When setting up, closing down, loading and unloading, care should be taken for your own safety and the safety of others.
    • Should a stallholder need to leave an event early it is expected they will first gain permission from the event manager.
    • Stallholders must operate strictly within the boundaries of the stall.  Please be considerate to your market neighbours.
    • We aim for us all to work in a supportive and respectful environment. We should treat our event managers, stallholders and members of the public with courtesy and respect at all times.
    • Instructions given by our infrastructure team or event management regarding risk management or accident prevention must be complied with strictly and immediately.
    • Please ensure nothing sharp or dangerous is attached to tables or gazebos that could endanger or harm set up crew when erecting or dismantling equipment or damage infrastructure.
  • Cancellation Policy

     

    • Cancellation of a stall by a trader must be done via email.
    • On receipt of cancellation email up to 7 calendar days before the trading date – 75% of the fee will be refunded.  Alternatively an alternative date may be requested.
    • On receipt of cancellation within 7 calendar days before the trading date – no refund due, the full fee will be retained.
    • For block bookings an alternative date may be requested.
    • If MPML are forced to cancel a market due to adverse weather (force Majeure), 75% of the fee will be refunded.  Alternatively, an alternative date may be requested.
